Meditation Lessons At Atlanta Meditation Center – Power of Focusing

What Is The Power of Focusing?

Welcome to The Open Mind Center. In today’s blog post we’ll explore an important meditation lesson and understand why it’s vital to practice and develop the power of focus along with a really simple meditation technique even a beginner can follow and benefit from.

The Power of focus by Ann Connell states, “Focusing is a body-oriented process of self-awareness and emotional healing. It is as simple as noticing how you feel—and then having a conversation with your feelings in which you do most of the listening. Focusing starts with the familiar experience of feeling something in your body that is about what is going on in your life. Focusing is to listen to the feeling and let it speak to you. And when you let the feeling speak to you, you are allowing yourself to be open to the depth and riches of your whole self.”

Super Simple Meditation Technique For Better Focus:
One, two, three…Breathe. And one more time…In and Out, breathe. Ah, now you can relax and understand what you just read. Focusing is about bringing your whole self into the conversation. When was the last time you were able to do that? Why is it that we leave our passions checked at the door like a coat or hat? Or forget to switch on our light around others as we sit like a wallflower hoping someone will notice us and our desire to love and be loved.

How This Power of Focusing Can Benefit You In Real Life?
Your ability to love is in direct relationship to your ability to listen. Focusing will help develop this ability. It is honoring and will bring you to a greater level of awareness of the subtle clues that your energetic bodies are sending. It is really important to listen to these clues so that as you bring awareness to your inner reality, your outer reality also begins to shift and true change occurs. Your inner spaces will thank you for the attention, affection, and awareness you bring by responding with calmness and surrender.

“The results of listening to your body are insight, physical release, and positive life change. You understand yourself better, you feel better, and you act in ways that are more likely to create the life that you want.”
