It happens regularly in our store that conversations with customers turn to the subject of meditation. One of the most common things we hear is, “Oh, I could never meditate! My mind is way too busy.”

Actually, having thoughts is not a barrier to meditation. It’s really quite simple and only takes a little guidance & practice to learn how to work with your mind instead of against it. There are many forms of meditation and different ways to meditate. Once you find the practice that suits your temperament and intentions you will begin to experience its transformative benefits. People who meditate regularly report being happier for no real reason, feeling healthier and more energized, a greater sense of connectedness to others and a general overall improvement in their quality of life.

Here at The Open mind Center we have all the support you need to develop a mediation practice that works for you. We have classes on meditation and yoga (many yoga practices incorporate meditative techniques), books and other meditation tools such as specifically designed meditation cushions and meditation / prayer necklaces (malas), just to name a few.
