The Open Mind Center’s Gentle class is open to all students. Release stress, increase flexibility and balance the mind/body connection through gentle flowing movements, meditation and longer held Restorative postures. Gentle stretching and movement warms the muscles and releases tension to prepare the body and mind for rest and stillness. The Open Mind Center’s instructors infuse breathing and relaxation techniques and offer supportive props to help students release layers of tension and revitalize natural rhythms; a wonderful calming and relaxing experience.

Instructor: Kristen has been a student of yoga since 2008, with a background in Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Acro. Formalizing her education at Peachtree Yoga Center under the guidance of Graham Fowler, she has continued her studies and is currently enrolled at the Kripalu School of Integrated Yoga Therapy. Kristen experiences yoga as the potential for divine expression, powerful connection, profound healing and a greater sense of freedom. From Restorative to Power, she seeks to create a safe and empowering space for her students to uncover deeper insights, in body as well as mind. Kristen believes that yoga comes to each practitioner at precisely the right moment in his or her life and feels honored to support, share and witness this sweet gift with each and every student.
Instructor: Lola has been practicing yoga for more than 20 years when as a teen, her mom dropped her off at the YMCA for yoga classes. Yoga has been a constant in her life, helping her manage corporate stress and long hours at a desk. Lola is fascinated with the body and its ability to heal and move, and enjoys adapting yoga practices to accommodate the body’s changes. She enjoys spending time with her family, working at a local public library, regularly walking the Roswell and Alpharetta Greenway, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Lola completed her RYT 200 at the Open Mind Center and loves sharing yoga with others to help them relax and reset, ready to face a new day.
Practitioner: Joanna Israel comes to Open Mind Center with a 500 hour Yoga Teaching Certification as well as experience teaching several forms of adult and kids yoga.
Joanna initially started her yoga practice in order to recover from various running ailments. Eventually she realized that yoga can heal not only the body but also the mind. She wanted to share that realization with others and help them, which is what led her to teacher training.
Joanna’s goal as a teacher is to help her students find their own individual connection with yoga and mindfulness.
