Some of us were brought up to belief that a massage was nothing but an unnecessary luxury. Well, what if we told you that you could kill two birds with one stone and heal your body while pampering yourself? You wouldn’t even have to make up an excuse to come get yours right now!

Here are a few of the massage services we offer so you can find the one that is perfect for you:

Swedish Massage

A Swedish Massage is a medium-pressure, full body massage using therapeutic-grade massage oils for relief of tension and improved circulation. The essential aim of Swedish Massage is to help the body heal itself and increase general health. Initially meant as a form of therapy for athletes, the methods of

Swedish Massage have adapted to blend with modern times and is just as healing for the person that sits at a desk all day. Among the benefits of Swedish Massage are increased flexibility, improved blood circulation, decreased toxicity in the blood, and a more regular sleeping cycle. You are sure to leave relaxed, loose, and limber.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a technique in which the deeper layers of muscle tissue are targeted in order to release chronic patterns of tension in the body. This is achieved through the use of slow, deep, and firm strokes with direct pressure from the fingers on the affected areas. This pressure is applied following the muscle fibers, tendons, and fascia. This technique is also useful in separating and eliminating scar tissue. Slight pain is not uncommon during or right after the massage.

Deep Tissue Massage differs from most other relaxing massages because the goal is not necessarily to relax, but rather to reduce pain and stiffness in muscles that already display signs of sensitivity and pain. This makes Deep Tissue Massage ideal for athletes and highly active individuals. Complete relief usually comes a day or two after receiving your massage treatment. The benefits of this type of massage include increased flexibility, mobility, and decreased pain.

Integrated Massage

This service incorporates both massage and energy work. The practitioner will blend massage therapy techniques and energy work such as Acupressure, Reiki, and Chakra Balancing based on your individual needs. Many believe that in life time and distance heal all wounds. The truth is that feelings that are buried alive never die and must be fully processed in order to heal from. Sometimes our bodies hold these unprocessed emotions and the residual energy stays lodged in different areas causing pain and discomfort.

Integrated Massage is a perfect choice for those who need help releasing emotional blockages yet enjoy the soothing release and relaxation of a body massage. This cathartic experience will leave you feeling more grounded, balanced, relaxed.

Acupressure

Acupressure follows the ideas of traditional Chinese medicine founded on the same ideas as Acupuncture, in that is uses the pressure from the fingertips to target healing points on the body. This pressure increases the stimulation in the body which brings out its natural curative abilities. During the massage, muscle tension is released increasing the flow of energy and circulation of blood throughout the body.

In addition, the increase of energy created by Acupressure assists the body in its own self healing processes. Acupressure can be used to relieve joint and muscle pain for conditions such as arthritis, backache, and stress related conditions such as sleeping problems. The emotional balance that occurs due to Acupressure has been linked to the reduction of stress, anxiety, and blood pressure.

Neuromuscular Massage

If you suffer from chronic lower back pain, Neuromuscular Massage is the most effective massage that can be performed. Another name for Neuromuscular Massage is “trigger point myotherapy” and is recognized as and effective massage treatment for back pain due to soft tissue injury such as muscle strain.

The massage therapist will use the fingers, knuckles, or elbows to apply pressure to the muscle spasm or area of pain. Once pressure is applied it should only last approximately 10 to 30 seconds. Lactic acid is then released from the muscle and it should start receiving enough blood and oxygen to function correctly.

Sports Massage

Most athletes know that one of the most important aspects of staying in shape and training properly is recovery. The physiological and psychological benefits of massage make it an ideal complement to a total conditioning program. A regular sports massage can help reduce the chance of injury, improve range of motion, shorten recovery time, maximize the supply of nutrients and oxygen to the muscles, and increase the elimination of lactic acid produced through exercise.

Reflexology

Reflexology uses an ancient technique that applies pressure to points on your hands and feet in order to heal illness or bring an overall sense of wellbeing. The methodology of Reflexology is derived from the idea that every part of the body is interconnected to a corresponding part on the hands and feet.

Immediate results from a session include relaxation, improved circulation, stronger immune system, more restful sleep, and acute and chronic condition relief. In addition, reflexology cleanses the body of toxins and promotes physical and emotional well being.

Long term benefits of Reflexology are wide and varied. These benefits include relief of chronic migraines, constipation, insomnia, breathing disorders, and digestive problems. In addition to all of the healing affects of Reflexology, this is also a great modality for those who prefer minimal physical contact of the body.
