Help Support Local Artists

Here at The Open Mind Center, we value art as an outlet for expression. We would like to share a project, Paperous, fronted by a SCAD student and support him and his team in any way. Their story is one of self discovery and healing during a time of change in a child’s life.

Paperous is a short film about an eight year old named Michael, who is unnoticed, but ever observant. He is going through a transformation brought on by the divorce of his parents. In this coming of age adventure, he fights to preserve the only life he knows.

All over the world, there are kids who have to deal with the ramifications of their parents’ issues. They don’t have anyone to go to. Their minds are their place of refuge. Help us share this story.
The funding will be going towards various aspects of production including, set design, costume design, and special effects.

Donations will be accepted at the Center or you can go on their Indiegogo website: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/paperous-short-film

Be sure to follow their progress throughout the year as they complete the film!

Updates!

The efforts of this team have rewarded the director with a mention in Variety Magazine as 1 in 110 students to watch in the country!

The film has been completed. Click on the link above to discover all the steps it took to make the film. If you were a backer, then most likely you can have a copy of the film. Check the website for details. If for whatever reason, you cannot get a free copy of the film, you can submit a purchase order.

In this next year, the film will be playing at festivals around the country. Look out for a notice if it exhibits in your area.

Thank you for your support!
